What a night!

After getting over 450 RSVP's for our "private" premiere, we were more excited than ever. After all, nobody who was coming knew what they would be in store for… they just knew that our small team been working diligently for over 2 years on a "secret" project… and now it was time for the unveiling!

When we saw that over 650 excited people had actually shown up, we didn't know what to do! We quickly added as many chairs as we could, but for many it was still "standing room only". As the eager crowd filed in, the room became lively and energized! The smell of pepperoni pizza and buttery popcorn filled the air, and children were playing with hundreds of beach balls, waiting for the BIG show to start!

So with our stomachs in knots, we took a deep breath,
dimmed the lights (while crossing our fingers) and pressed "play".

The production team was a bundle of nerves and excitement! After all, we loved our show, and all The MusicLand Band characters, but how would it go over for a real audience? Were animated musical instruments really a good idea? A flying guitar pick? Drums who were skaters? An electric guitar with a leather jacket? Pretty cool?? Maybe not. Doubts filled our minds…

But now it was time… the moment of truth. So with our stomachs in knots, we took a deep breath, dimmed the lights while crossing our fingers, and pressed "play".

As first name appeared on the screen there were a few hoots and a bit of applause. (yes, our proud parents and close friends were there…) but then… we never expected to get the reaction we got! After the theme song… LOUD, ENTHUSIASTIC, applause and cheers by all! Hey, they liked the theme song! Now, what about the rest of the show??? Thankfully, for us, the response to the rest of the show the reaction was the same, laughter, loud applause after each song, (9 in all) more laughter, and then…. Just as the closing credits started to roll… the beach balls started flying!!! Kids stood up and were casting their shadows on the projection screen having a "great" time! Immediately two thoughts crossed our minds…

One, no one really cares about the credits and two, thank goodness they liked the show or it could have been a real disaster!

The rest of the night was spent meeting new enthusiastic "MusicLand Band Fans", giving away great prizes, (including an electric guitar and amp, a drum set, a keyboard, and lots of other fun stuff), signing lots of beach balls, and just soaking in the fun and excitement of the evening.

It was a wonderfully "fun & fab" time, a night we'll NEVER forget!

Lots of eager folks stood in a long line to purchase the new video and soundtrack and it was great to see the excitement on their faces and hear them share about who they were going to be giving the videos to!

The talented cast and crew were able to attend which made the evening really wonderful. Even Crystal Lewis, (who plays the character Star) was in attendance with her little ones… one of whom thinks she's NOW famous because her character appeared on the video cover! (Maybe she didn't know that her mom has sung in front of millions of people, appeared on the Grammy's, recorded dozens of records?)

Anyway, it was a wonderfully fun & fab time, a night we'll NEVER forget!
